Melinda McElheny grew up on a farm in rural Kansas and managed teams within various corporations prior to studying law. She is a cum laude juris doctor graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management & Leadership from Friends University.

While at MHSL, she served as a law review Managing Editor and won a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Deals and Disputes. She focuses on preventing disputes and helping clients to avoid conflict before it starts. Melinda is licensed in the state of Kansas and is currently inactive in Iowa. She teaches trial advocacy skills, bar preparation, and criminal law as a part-time Adjunct Professor.
